Reference range
Negative: No drug-dependent neutrophil-reactive IgG antibodies detected in the presence of cefazolin. Positive results are reported when IgG binding exceeds the laboratory-defined positivity threshold relative to a negative control.N/A
No special patient preparation is required. Specimen should ideally be collected prior to the next dose of cefazolin, or at least 7-14 days after the suspected drug-induced neutropenia episode, to optimize detection of circulating drug-dependent antibodies. Document all current and recent medications, including the timing of cefazolin administration.
