Reference range not applicable. Results reported as narrative pathology report with diagnostic interpretation including: specimen type, gross description, microscopic findings, pathological diagnosis, and comments. Reports may include CIN/SIL grading (LSIL, HSIL), carcinoma classification (squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma), FIGO staging, and margin status.N/A
No fasting required. Patient should provide informed consent prior to biopsy procedure. Patient should inform physician of all medications, especially anticoagulants (warfarin, aspirin, NSAIDs), which may need to be discontinued prior to procedure per physician instructions. Avoid vaginal douching, intercourse, or use of tampons 24-48 hours before biopsy. Schedule procedure outside of active menstrual period when possible.
