What is this test?
The Adenine blood test measures the amount of adenine in your serum (the liquid part of your blood). Adenine is a type of molecule called a nucleotide, which is one of the building blocks of DNA and RNA. It also plays a key role in energy production in your cells as part of a molecule called ATP (adenosine triphosphate).
Why is this test done?
This test is usually ordered when your doctor suspects a problem with your body's ability to process adenine or other purines (a group of molecules that includes adenine). It may be used to help diagnose certain metabolic disorders, kidney problems, or rare genetic conditions that affect how your body handles these chemicals.
How is the test performed?
A healthcare professional will draw a small sample of blood from a vein in your arm. The blood is then sent to a laboratory where the serum (the clear liquid that remains after blood clots) is separated and tested for adenine levels. You do not need to fast or prepare specially for this test in most cases.
What do the results mean?
"正常なアデニンレベルは各検査所によって異なります": "正常なアデニンレベルは各検査所によって異なります", "医師はあなたの健康状態、症状、他の検査結果を総合的に判断します": "医師はあなたの健康状態、症状、他の検査結果を総合的に判断します", "アデニンレベルが異常に高いまたは低い場合、代謝や腎臓機能の異常が疑われる場合があります": "アデニンレベルが異常に高いまたは低い場合、代謝や腎臓機能の異常が疑われる場合があります" }, "
Reference range
Reference range varies by laboratory method and population. Typically 0.2-2.5 μmol/L (micromoles per liter). Consult laboratory-specific reference intervals.N/A
No specific preparation required. Avoid excessive purine-rich foods 24 hours prior to collection if possible. Inform laboratory of any medications or supplements.
Clinical interpretation
How abnormal results are interpreted and what conditions they suggest.
