Non-Invasive Cardiac MRI for Anatomical and Functional Assessment of Heart Chambers, Valves, Coronary Arteries, Veins and Cardiac Lymphatic Vessels

Published: August 9, 2026Updated: August 9, 2026

This non-invasive magnetic resonance imaging exam produces dynamic, high-contrast cross-sectional visualization of all four cardiac chambers, atrioventricular and semilunar valve structures, epicardial coronary arteries, cardiac venous networks, and intramyocardial lymphatic vessels without requiring ionizing radiation or iodinated contrast administration. It is clinically indicated for evaluation of congenital cardiac anomalies, myocardial viability after ischemic injury, valvular regurgitation or stenosis severity, coronary artery dissection, and impaired cardiac lymphatic drainage in patients with refractory heart failure or post-cardiac surgery surveillance.

Quick summary

This 45-minute non-invasive cardiac MRI exam captures detailed dynamic images of all heart structures including chambers, valves, coronary arteries, veins, and cardiac lymphatic vessels to diagnose and monitor cardiovascular conditions without radiation exposure.
