Treats cervical dystonia (neck muscle spasms), upper and lower limb spasticity in adults and children, blepharospasm, strabismus, chronic migraine, hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), and overactive bladder. Also used cosmetically for glabellar frown lines.
Contains botulinum toxin type A, which binds to nerve terminals and blocks the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter responsible for muscle contraction. This results in temporary chemical denervation and relaxation of the targeted muscles.
Administered via injection by qualified healthcare professionals only. Effects begin within days and last approximately 3-4 months. May spread beyond the treatment area causing muscle weakness or botulism-like symptoms. Contraindicated in patients with infections at injection sites, neuromuscular disorders (myasthenia gravis, ALS), or allergies to any product components. Pregnancy category C; caution advised during breastfeeding.
