Temporarily relieves symptoms associated with the common cold, flu, or hay fever including headache, minor aches and pains, fever, sore throat, runny nose, sneezing, itchy nose or throat, and nasal/sinus congestion. Often specifically marketed for nighttime use due to its sleep-promoting effects.
Acetaminophen works by inhibiting prostaglandin production in the brain to reduce pain and fever. Diphenhydramine blocks histamine H1 receptors to reduce allergic symptoms and crosses the blood-brain barrier to cause drowsiness. Pseudoephedrine constricts blood vessels in the nasal passages, reducing swelling and congestion.
May cause drowsiness; avoid operating machinery or driving until you know how it affects you. Do not use with other acetaminophen-containing products to avoid overdose. Consult a healthcare provider before use if you have high blood pressure, heart disease, thyroid problems, diabetes, glaucoma, or difficulty urinating. Not recommended for children under certain ages without medical advice. Avoid alcohol while taking this medication.
