Aclidinium Formoterol
This combination medication contains aclidinium, a long-acting anticholinergic, and formoterol, a long-acting beta-2 agonist. It is used as a maintenance treatment for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) to help improve breathing and reduce exacerbations. The two agents work through different mechanisms to provide additive bronchodilation.

Long-term maintenance treatment of COPD, including chronic bronchitis and emphysema. It helps reduce symptoms and prevent COPD flare-ups but is not a rescue medication for acute breathing problems.
Aclidinium blocks muscarinic receptors in airway smooth muscle, preventing acetylcholine-induced bronchoconstriction. Formoterol stimulates beta-2 adrenergic receptors, causing direct muscle relaxation. Together they provide complementary bronchodilation through different pathways.
Not for acute symptoms or sudden breathing problems—use a rescue inhaler for those situations. May increase risk of asthma-related death if used alone for asthma (not indicated for asthma). Common side effects may include headache, cough, and dry mouth. Use with caution in patients with certain heart conditions. Always follow prescribed dosing instructions.
