Treatment of bacterial respiratory tract infections such as acute and chronic bronchitis, pneumonia, and other lower respiratory tract infections where there is both bacterial infection present and excessive viscous mucus that needs to be cleared from the airways.
Ampicillin works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, killing susceptible bacteria. Ambroxol acts as a mucolytic and expectorant by breaking down mucus fibers, reducing mucus viscosity, and stimulating surfactant production, making it easier to cough up phlegm and clear airways.
Contains penicillin-type antibiotic; not suitable for patients with penicillin allergy. Complete the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve. May cause gastrointestinal side effects. Should be used under medical supervision and only when bacterial infection is confirmed or strongly suspected to avoid antibiotic resistance.
