Amlodipine / Perindopril
Amlodipine/Perindopril is a combination antihypertensive medication that pairs a calcium channel blocker with an ACE inhibitor to lower blood pressure through complementary mechanisms. This fixed-dose combination is used when single-agent therapy is insufficient to control hypertension, providing greater blood pressure reduction than either component alone.

Treatment of essential hypertension in patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with either amlodipine or perindopril alone, or as initial therapy for patients requiring combination treatment.
Amlodipine blocks calcium channels in vascular smooth muscle, causing vasodilation and reduced peripheral resistance. Perindopril inhibits ACE, decreasing angiotensin II production and aldosterone secretion. Together they provide additive blood pressure reduction through complementary pathways.
Contraindicated in pregnancy (especially 2nd and 3rd trimesters), history of angioedema, and bilateral renal artery stenosis. May cause hypotension, hyperkalemia, or persistent dry cough. Peripheral edema from amlodipine may be reduced by the ACE inhibitor component. Regular monitoring of renal function and electrolytes recommended.
