Primarily used for plaque psoriasis, particularly to help remove thick, scaly plaques. May also be used for other hyperkeratotic (thickened) skin conditions as determined by a healthcare provider.
Anthralin (dithranol) has anti-proliferative and anti-inflammatory effects on skin cells, helping to normalize cell growth in psoriatic plaques. Salicylic acid acts as a keratolytic agent, breaking down the protein (keratin) that causes scaling and allowing dead skin cells to shed more easily.
For topical use only; avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, and unaffected skin areas. May stain clothing, bedding, and temporarily discolor skin or nails. May cause irritation, burning, or redness, especially on sensitive skin. Typically used for short-contact therapy to minimize irritation. Consult a healthcare provider before use, especially if pregnant, breastfeeding, or using other skin medications.
