Treatment and prevention of hypokalemia (low blood potassium), urinary alkalinization for conditions such as renal tubular acidosis, kidney stone prevention, and as a supplement for patients with inadequate dietary potassium intake or those taking potassium-depleting medications.

Potassium citrate provides bioavailable potassium to restore normal serum potassium levels and acts as a systemic and urinary alkalinizer. Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) serves as an antioxidant and supports various metabolic functions. The citrate component is metabolized to bicarbonate, raising urinary pH.

Contraindicated in patients with hyperkalemia, severe renal impairment, or untreated Addison's disease. May interact with ACE inhibitors, potassium-sparing diuretics, and NSAIDs. Take with food to minimize gastrointestinal effects. Monitor serum potassium levels regularly during therapy. Do not crush or chew extended-release formulations.
