This combination has been used for conditions involving impaired cerebral and peripheral circulation, such as peripheral arterial disease, symptoms of cerebrovascular insufficiency, and related conditions where improved blood flow is desired.

Aspirin irreversibly inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, reducing thromboxane production and thereby decreasing platelet aggregation. Nafronyl is a peripheral vasodilator that acts on vascular smooth muscle and may also have modest anti-serotonin effects, helping to improve blood flow through narrowed vessels.

This medication should be avoided in patients with aspirin allergy, active peptic ulcers, bleeding disorders, or severe kidney/liver impairment. The combination should not be used with other anticoagulants or NSAIDs without medical supervision. Nafronyl has been withdrawn from some markets due to safety concerns. Patients should use caution with surgery, as aspirin prolongs bleeding time. Use during pregnancy is not recommended.
