Augtyro is indicated for the treatment of adults with locally advanced or metastatic ROS1-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), as well as adult patients with locally advanced or metastatic solid tumors that have an NTRK gene fusion and have progressed following treatment or have no satisfactory alternative options.

Augtyro contains the active ingredient repotrectinib, which works as a next-generation tyrosine kinase inhibitor. It targets and blocks the activity of ROS1 and TRK (from NTRK gene fusions) proteins, which are abnormal forms of tyrosine kinases that drive cancer cell growth and proliferation. By inhibiting these targets, the medication helps slow or stop cancer cell growth.

Augtyro may cause serious side effects including neurological effects (dizziness, balance problems, tingling sensations), liver problems, and potential harm to an unborn baby. Patients should avoid driving or operating machinery if they experience dizziness. The medication may interact with other drugs, and patients should inform their healthcare provider of all medications. Treatment should be supervised by an oncologist experienced with targeted cancer therapies.
