Treatment of acute and chronic diarrhea, including traveler's diarrhea, functional bowel disorders, and mild to moderate intestinal cramping associated with diarrheal conditions.

Belladonna alkaloids block acetylcholine at muscarinic receptors in the GI tract, reducing secretions and smooth muscle activity; kaolin binds to toxins and bacteria in the intestinal lumen; phenobarbital depresses CNS activity and further reduces intestinal motility.

May cause drowsiness; avoid operating machinery or driving. Not recommended for prolonged use due to risk of dependence from phenobarbital component. Anticholinergic effects may cause dry mouth, constipation, urinary retention, or blurred vision. Contraindicated in patients with glaucoma, urinary obstruction, or severe ulcerative colitis. Should not be used in cases of bacterial diarrhea where antimicrobial therapy is needed.
