Bemiparin Sodium
Bemiparin Sodium is a low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) anticoagulant used to prevent and treat blood clots. It is administered via subcutaneous injection and works by enhancing the activity of antithrombin III to inhibit clot formation. This medication is typically used in hospital and outpatient settings for conditions such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT) prevention, especially in surgical patients, and sometimes for acute DVT treatment.
Bemiparin Sodium is an injectable anticoagulant used to prevent and treat blood clots by inhibiting clotting factors through antithrombin enhancement.

Prevention of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in surgical and high-risk patients, treatment of established deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and may be used in certain acute coronary syndromes. Also sometimes employed for prophylaxis in immobilized patients.
As a low molecular weight heparin, Bemiparin binds to antithrombin III, causing a conformational change that dramatically increases its ability to inactivate factor Xa and, to a lesser extent, factor IIa (thrombin). This interrupts the coagulation cascade and prevents fibrin formation.
Administered by subcutaneous injection only. Requires careful monitoring in patients with renal impairment, history of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT), or active bleeding. May interact with other anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, and NSAIDs. Pregnancy category C. Patients should be monitored for signs of bleeding and thrombocytopenia during therapy.
