Treatment of hyperlipidemia, specifically heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia and established atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, in adults who require additional LDL-C reduction alongside diet and maximally tolerated statin therapy.

Ezetimibe inhibits intestinal cholesterol absorption by blocking the NPC1L1 transporter in the small intestine, while bempedoic acid inhibits ATP citrate lyase in the liver, reducing cholesterol synthesis. Their complementary pathways provide additive LDL-C lowering effects.

May increase uric acid levels and risk of gout; avoid use with fluoroquinolones due to tendon rupture risk. Contraindicated in pregnancy. Liver function monitoring recommended. Common side effects include upper respiratory infections, muscle spasms, and back pain.
