Benadryl Itch Stopping is used to temporarily relieve itching and pain associated with minor skin irritations, including insect bites, poison ivy/oak/sumac, sunburn, and other allergic skin reactions. It can also help with minor burns and irritations from soaps, detergents, cosmetics, or jewelry.

The active ingredient diphenhydramine is an antihistamine that works by blocking histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic itching. When applied topically, it reduces itching at the site of application. Some formulations also contain zinc acetate, which provides additional skin-protectant properties.

For external use only—avoid contact with eyes, nose, and mouth. Do not apply to large areas of the body or broken/damaged skin. Should not be used on children under 2 years without medical advice. Stop use and consult a doctor if symptoms worsen or persist for more than 7 days. May cause drowsiness if absorbed in significant amounts through the skin.
