Prevention of allergic contact dermatitis caused by poison ivy, poison oak, and poison sumac exposure. It is applied to exposed skin areas before contact with these plants to reduce the likelihood of developing a rash.
Bentoquatam acts as a physical barrier on the skin's surface, helping to prevent the plant oils (urushiol) from penetrating and contacting the skin. When applied before exposure, it may help reduce the absorption of these allergens.
For external use only on intact skin. Do not apply to broken, blistered, or already affected skin. Wash hands after application. If a rash develops despite use, discontinue and consult a healthcare provider. Not effective once the allergic reaction has already begun.
