Betamethasone / Salicylic Acid
Betamethasone/Salicylic Acid is a topical combination medication used to treat inflammatory skin conditions with thickened, scaly skin, most commonly plaque psoriasis. It combines a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and itching with a keratolytic agent that helps soften and remove scales, making it particularly effective for hyperkeratotic dermatoses where single-agent therapy is insufficient.
A topical steroid-keratolytic combination for treating inflammatory skin conditions with scaling, primarily psoriasis.

Primarily used for plaque psoriasis and other hyperkeratotic dermatoses where thickened, scaling skin is present. May also be used for chronic eczema with hyperkeratotic features when other treatments are inadequate.
Betamethasone provides anti-inflammatory and anti-pruritic effects by reducing inflammatory mediators and causing vasoconstriction. Salicylic acid acts as a keratolytic, breaking down keratin and softening thick skin plaques, which allows better penetration of the corticosteroid and facilitates scale removal.
For topical use only on affected areas. Avoid applying to face, genitals, or large body surface areas. Should not be used for prolonged periods due to risk of systemic steroid absorption. Contraindicated in viral infections (herpes), fungal infections, and certain skin conditions. Use with caution in children and during pregnancy. Do not occlude unless directed.
