Functions as a monoclonal antibody that binds specifically to vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), preventing VEGF from interacting with its receptors on endothelial cells and thereby blocking the formation of new tumor blood vessels (angiogenesis).

Administered as intravenous infusion. Can cause serious adverse effects including gastrointestinal perforation, wound healing complications, severe bleeding, hypertension, proteinuria, and thromboembolic events. Contraindicated during pregnancy. Requires regular monitoring and should only be administered by healthcare professionals experienced in chemotherapy.
