Treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection and associated duodenal or gastric ulcers. Used as part of a combination regimen when H. pylori has been confirmed or is suspected as the cause of ulcer disease.
Bismuth biskalcitrate provides mucosal protection and has direct antimicrobial effects against H. pylori. Metronidazole and tetracycline are antibiotics that inhibit bacterial growth and replication. Together, they target the bacteria through multiple mechanisms, reducing the likelihood of resistance development.
Tetracycline can cause permanent tooth discoloration in developing fetuses and children - contraindicated in pregnancy and children under 8 years. All components may interact with other medications. Complete the full course as prescribed. Avoid alcohol during treatment with metronidazole. Common side effects may include nausea, diarrhea, darkening of stool or tongue, and gastrointestinal upset.
