Treats bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye), blepharitis, and other superficial ocular infections caused by susceptible bacteria. May also be used for corneal infections and as prophylaxis after eye surgery or trauma.
Contains sulfacetamide sodium, a sulfonamide antibiotic that works by inhibiting the growth of susceptible bacteria. It interferes with bacterial folic acid synthesis, preventing the bacteria from multiplying and allowing the body's immune system to clear the infection.
For ophthalmic use only—avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface including the eye. Contraindicated in patients with sulfonamide sensitivity. Use with caution in patients with compromised corneal health. Complete the full course of treatment even if symptoms improve to prevent antibiotic resistance. May cause temporary blurred vision after application.
