Cosmetically used to improve appearance of moderate to severe glabellar lines, crow's feet, and forehead lines. Medically indicated for chronic migraine prevention, cervical dystonia, upper limb spasticity, blepharospasm, strabismus, hyperhidrosis (excessive underarm sweating), overactive bladder, and urinary incontinence from neurogenic detrusor overactivity.

Contains onabotulinumtoxinA, a purified neurotoxin from Clostridium botulinum bacteria. It works by blocking acetylcholine release at the neuromuscular junction, causing temporary muscle relaxation or by blocking eccrine sweat gland secretion, reducing sweat production. Effects are temporary and typically last 3-4 months.

Carries a black box warning for potential distant spread of toxin effects causing serious, potentially fatal reactions including breathing and swallowing difficulties. Must be administered only by qualified healthcare professionals. The effects of Botox are not interchangeable with other botulinum toxin products (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, Jeuveau). Patients may develop neutralizing antibodies reducing effectiveness over time. Seek immediate medical attention if experiencing difficulty breathing, speaking, or swallowing after treatment.
