Brodalumab
Brodalumab is a monoclonal antibody that targets the IL-17 receptor A, blocking inflammatory signals involved in autoimmune conditions. It is primarily used to treat moderate to severe plaque psoriasis in patients who are candidates for systemic therapy or phototherapy.
An IL-17 receptor antagonist used to treat moderate to severe plaque psoriasis by blocking inflammatory cytokine signaling.

Route of administration
Method of drug administration
Brodalumab is approved for the treatment of moderate to severe plaque psoriasis in adults who are candidates for systemic therapy or phototherapy. It may also be considered for psoriatic arthritis in certain cases.
Brodalumab is a human monoclonal IgG2 antibody that selectively binds to the IL-17 receptor A (IL-17RA) on cell surfaces, preventing interaction with pro-inflammatory cytokines including IL-17A, IL-17F, IL-17C, IL-17A/F heterodimer, and IL-25. By blocking these cytokine-receptor interactions, it inhibits downstream inflammatory signaling pathways that contribute to psoriasis pathogenesis.
Brodalumab is administered via subcutaneous injection. Patients should be monitored for infections, as IL-17 inhibition may increase susceptibility to fungal and bacterial infections. Suicidal ideation and behavior have been observed in some patients during clinical trials; patients should be assessed for depression and suicidal thoughts before and during treatment. Brodalumab should not be used in patients with active infections.
