Treatment of acute and chronic respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis, bronchopneumonia, and other bacterial infections of the airways where mucolysis is desired to facilitate clearance of secretions.

Bromhexine acts as a mucolytic to reduce mucus viscosity and enhance its clearance from the airways. Sulfadiazine and tetroxoprim work synergistically as antibacterial agents, inhibiting sequential steps in bacterial folic acid synthesis to effectively eliminate susceptible organisms.

As with all antibiotic-containing medications, this should only be used when bacterial infection is confirmed or strongly suspected. Complete the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve. Patients with known sulfonamide sensitivity should avoid this medication. May interact with other medications; inform your healthcare provider of all current drugs. Common side effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances. Adequate fluid intake is recommended while taking this medication.
