Hyperprolactinemia, prolactin-secreting pituitary adenomas (prolactinomas), Parkinson's disease, acromegaly, and conditions associated with abnormal prolactin levels such as amenorrhea, infertility, and galactorrhea.

As a dopamine agonist, bromocriptine stimulates dopamine receptors in the brain, mimicking the action of natural dopamine. This inhibits prolactin secretion from the pituitary gland, improves dopamine-related motor functions in Parkinson's disease, and reduces growth hormone in acromegaly.

May cause side effects including nausea, dizziness, headache, and low blood pressure, especially when starting treatment. Should be used with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease, psychiatric disorders, or those taking other medications affecting dopamine. Not recommended during pregnancy unless specifically indicated for certain conditions.
