Treats inflammatory and allergic conditions including asthma, allergic rhinitis, nasal polyps, COPD, and inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis). Available in inhaled, nasal spray, oral, and rectal formulations.

Acts as a glucocorticoid receptor agonist, reducing inflammation by inhibiting inflammatory cell migration, decreasing cytokine production, suppressing immune responses, and reducing vascular permeability at the site of inflammation.

May cause local side effects depending on formulation (oral thrush with inhalers, nasal irritation). Systemic effects are possible with prolonged high-dose use including adrenal suppression, osteoporosis, and increased infection risk. Not for acute asthma attacks. Taper gradually after long-term use.
