Bupivacaine / Epinephrine
Bupivacaine/Epinephrine is a combination local anesthetic medication used to provide prolonged numbness and pain relief during surgical and diagnostic procedures. The epinephrine component causes local vasoconstriction, which keeps the anesthetic in place longer, reduces bleeding, and extends the duration of effect. This medication is commonly used for epidural anesthesia, nerve blocks, and local infiltration during various surgical procedures.
A long-acting local anesthetic combined with a vasoconstrictor used to provide extended pain relief during surgical and diagnostic procedures.

Provides regional anesthesia for surgeries, nerve blocks, epidural anesthesia, local infiltration during dental procedures, and pain management during and after surgical procedures. Commonly used in obstetrics, orthopedic surgery, and various outpatient surgical settings.
Bupivacaine blocks nerve conduction by inhibiting sodium channels in nerve fibers, preventing pain signals from reaching the brain. Epinephrine constricts local blood vessels, reducing blood flow to the area which decreases systemic absorption of the anesthetic, prolongs duration, and minimizes bleeding at the surgical site.
Should not be used in areas with end-arteries (fingers, toes, nose, ears) due to risk of tissue necrosis from vasoconstriction. Systemic toxicity can occur with high doses, primarily affecting the heart and central nervous system. Caution required in patients with cardiovascular disease, hyperthyroidism, or on certain medications. Dosage must be carefully calculated based on patient weight and procedure type.
