Used for relief of occasional constipation and to help restore regular bowel movements. May also be used to manage bowel irregularity associated with irritable bowel syndrome or other conditions as directed by a healthcare provider.
Calcium Polycarbophil is a water-soluble, synthetic polymer that absorbs water in the gastrointestinal tract. This increases the moisture content and bulk of stool, which stimulates normal peristalsis and helps facilitate easier passage of stool through the intestines.
Should be taken with at least 8 ounces of liquid to prevent choking or intestinal blockage. May interact with other medications; take at least 2 hours before or after other medicines. Not recommended for long-term use without medical supervision. Consult a healthcare provider if constipation persists beyond 7 days.
