Temporary relief of cough symptoms associated with the common cold. Also used for minor aches and pains of muscles and joints, such as backaches, arthritis strains, and bruises. When inhaled, may help relieve nasal congestion.
These ingredients act as counter-irritants. When applied to the skin, they produce a warming or cooling sensation that distracts from deeper pain and congestion. Menthol provides a cooling effect, while camphor produces a warming sensation. Eucalyptol (derived from eucalyptus) may help open airways when the vapors are inhaled.
For external use only - do not ingest or apply near the mouth, nostrils (except as directed), or on broken skin. Do not use on infants or young children without medical advice, as camphor can be toxic if misused. Avoid heat sources (heating pads, hot water) when applied, as this may increase absorption and cause burns. Discontinue use if skin irritation, rash, or excessive redness occurs.
