Camzyos is indicated for the treatment of adults with symptomatic New York Heart Association (NYHA) Class II-III obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy to improve functional capacity and symptoms.

Camzyos is a cardiac myosin inhibitor that reduces the contractility of the heart muscle by inhibiting myosin. This decreases the excessive contraction that occurs in obstructive HCM, allowing the heart to pump blood more efficiently and reducing the obstruction in the left ventricular outflow tract.

Camzyos carries a risk of heart failure due to systolic dysfunction and should be monitored regularly with echocardiograms. It may cause dizziness and should not be used during pregnancy. Patients should avoid concomitant use with certain medications that strongly inhibit CYP2C19 or CYP3A4. This medication requires close supervision by a cardiologist experienced in managing HCM.
