Cangrelor
Cangrelor is an intravenous antiplatelet medication that provides rapid, reversible platelet inhibition by blocking the P2Y12 ADP receptor on platelets. It is used to prevent blood clots during and after percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) in patients undergoing cardiac catheterization or stent placement procedures.

Prevents thrombotic complications during and after percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), including coronary stent placement. Used as an adjunct to PCI for reducing the risk of periprocedural myocardial infarction, stent thrombosis, and other thrombotic events.
Cangrelor is a direct, competitive antagonist of the P2Y12 platelet receptor. It binds selectively and reversibly to prevent ADP from triggering platelet activation and aggregation, thereby inhibiting clot formation.
Administered intravenously with rapid onset and short duration of action. Bleeding risk is the primary concern; platelet function recovers quickly after discontinuation. Must be used with appropriate anticoagulation during procedures.
