Treats respiratory infections (pneumonia, bronchitis), metritis, foot rot, and other bacterial infections in cattle, swine, sheep, goats, and horses. Particularly effective against Pasteurella, Haemophilus, and other gram-negative and gram-positive organisms commonly affecting food-producing animals.

As a beta-lactam antibiotic, Ceftiofur inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). This weakens the cell wall, leading to bacterial lysis and death. It has a broad spectrum of activity similar to other third-generation cephalosporins.

Administered only by or under the direction of a licensed veterinarian. Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or penicillins. Always follow prescribed withdrawal times for food-producing animals to prevent drug residues in meat or milk. Proper dosage and administration route must be determined by a veterinarian based on the specific animal species and condition being treated.
