Used to treat adults with metastatic or locally advanced cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma who are not candidates for curative surgery or radiation, as well as patients with advanced basal cell carcinoma and certain types of non-small cell lung cancer.

Cemiplimab is a monoclonal antibody that binds to the PD-1 receptor on immune cells, blocking its interaction with PD-L1 and PD-L2. This releases the brakes on the immune system, allowing T-cells to recognize and destroy cancer cells more effectively.

Administered as an intravenous infusion. May cause immune-mediated side effects affecting various organs including the lungs, liver, kidneys, and skin. Requires monitoring by healthcare providers experienced in immunotherapy. Patients should be screened for hepatitis B before starting treatment.
