Cephradine is used to treat respiratory tract infections (such as pneumonia and bronchitis), skin and soft tissue infections, urinary tract infections, and other infections caused by susceptible bacteria. It may also be used for surgical prophylaxis in certain procedures.

As a beta-lactam antibiotic, Cephradine inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs). This weakens the bacterial cell wall, leading to cell lysis and death of the bacteria.

Patients with penicillin allergies may have cross-reactivity with cephalosporins like Cephradine. Common side effects may include gastrointestinal symptoms (nausea, diarrhea), skin rashes, and allergic reactions. Complete the full prescribed course even if symptoms improve to prevent antibiotic resistance.
