Cinacalcet Hydrochloride
Cinacalcet Hydrochloride is a calcimimetic agent that lowers parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels by increasing the sensitivity of calcium-sensing receptors on the parathyroid glands. It is primarily used to treat secondary hyperparathyroidism in patients with chronic kidney disease on dialysis, as well as hypercalcemia in patients with parathyroid carcinoma. This medication requires regular monitoring of calcium levels and is typically taken with food to improve absorption.
Cinacalcet Hydrochloride is a calcimimetic agent that reduces parathyroid hormone levels for patients with kidney disease-related hyperparathyroidism or parathyroid cancer.

Treatment of secondary hyperparathyroidism in patients with chronic kidney disease on dialysis, hypercalcemia in patients with parathyroid carcinoma, and primary hyperparathyroidism when surgery is not an option.
Acts as a calcimimetic by binding to calcium-sensing receptors (CaSR) on parathyroid cells, increasing their sensitivity to extracellular calcium, which suppresses PTH secretion and reduces serum calcium levels.
Should be taken with food; requires regular monitoring of calcium, phosphorus, and PTH levels. May cause hypocalcemia, nausea, vomiting, and myalgia. Dose titration is based on PTH response. Not recommended for use in patients with hypocalcemia.
