Concizumab
Concizumab is a monoclonal antibody medication designed to improve blood clotting in patients with hemophilia. It works by blocking Tissue Factor Pathway Inhibitor (TFPI), a natural inhibitor of coagulation, thereby enhancing the body's ability to generate thrombin and form clots. This therapy is administered as a subcutaneous injection and is used for both hemophilia A and B patients.
Concizumab is a monoclonal antibody that treats hemophilia by inhibiting TFPI to improve blood clot formation.

Concizumab is indicated for prophylactic (preventive) treatment to reduce bleeding episodes in patients with hemophilia A (with or without factor VIII inhibitors) and hemophilia B (with or without factor IX inhibitors). It is particularly beneficial for patients who have developed inhibitors to standard clotting factor replacement therapy.
Concizumab is a monoclonal antibody that binds to and inhibits Tissue Factor Pathway Inhibitor (TFPI), a key regulator of the extrinsic coagulation pathway. By blocking TFPI, the medication promotes increased production of activated factor X (FXa) during the early initiation phase of coagulation, which subsequently enhances thrombin generation and improves clot formation.
Concizumab is administered as a subcutaneous injection, typically given daily. As with all anticoagulant therapies, there is a risk of thrombotic events (abnormal blood clot formation) and injection site reactions. Patients should be monitored for signs of bleeding or clotting disorders. This medication should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to the active substance or any of its excipients.
