Treatment of acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections (ABSSSI) and community-acquired bacterial pneumonia (CABP) in adults caused by susceptible gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).

Delafloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, and repair, leading to bacterial cell death.

May cause tendinitis, tendon rupture, peripheral neuropathy, and central nervous system effects. Contraindicated in patients with known fluoroquinolone hypersensitivity. Use with caution in patients with QT prolongation, renal impairment, or myasthenia gravis. Associated with increased risk of C. difficile infection.
