Delstrigo is indicated for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in adults without prior antiretroviral treatment history or as a replacement for a current stable regimen in those with no known substitutions associated with resistance.
Delstrigo combines three antiretroviral agents: doravirine (a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor) along with lamivudine and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (both nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors). Together, they inhibit reverse transcriptase, an enzyme essential for HIV replication, thereby reducing viral load.
Delstrigo may cause side effects including dizziness, nausea, and diarrhea. It should not be used in patients with severe renal impairment. As with all HIV medications, Delstrigo should be taken exactly as prescribed and is not a cure for HIV. Patients should be monitored for kidney function and bone density while on therapy.
