Deslorelin Acetate
Deslorelin Acetate is a synthetic gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist that works by initially stimulating, then downregulating GnRH receptors in the pituitary gland. This leads to decreased secretion of gonadotropins (LH and FSH), thereby reducing sex hormone production. The medication is primarily used in veterinary medicine for reproductive management and hormonal suppression.
Deslorelin Acetate is a GnRH agonist used to suppress reproductive hormones by initially stimulating then desensitizing pituitary GnRH receptors.

Used primarily in veterinary medicine for reproductive management in animals such as horses, including suppression of estrous cycles and treatment of hormone-related conditions. May also be used for management of hormone-sensitive conditions and in assisted reproduction protocols.
As a GnRH agonist, it initially causes a surge in LH and FSH release from the pituitary gland. With continued administration, GnRH receptors become desensitized, leading to decreased gonadotropin secretion and subsequently reduced production of sex steroids (testosterone and estrogen).
Deslorelin acetate is typically administered as a subcutaneous implant. Effects are reversible upon discontinuation. May cause initial worsening of symptoms before improvement occurs (initial 'flare' effect). Should only be used under veterinary supervision with appropriate monitoring of hormone levels.
