Used to treat inflammatory conditions of the eye including anterior uveitis, conjunctivitis, keratitis, and post-operative ocular inflammation. May also be prescribed for allergic eye conditions and other corticosteroid-responsive ophthalmic disorders.
As a corticosteroid, it works by inhibiting the inflammatory response through suppression of immune system activity. It reduces the production of inflammatory mediators, decreases capillary permeability, and stabilizes cellular membranes in ocular tissues.
For topical ophthalmic use only. Should not be used in eyes with viral, fungal, or mycobacterial infections. Prolonged use may increase intraocular pressure and risk of cataracts. Use with caution in patients with glaucoma or history of herpes simplex infection. Follow dosing instructions carefully and complete the full course as prescribed.
