Diroximel Fumarate
Diroximel fumarate is an oral immunomodulatory medication used to treat relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS), including clinically isolated syndrome, relapsing-remitting disease, and active secondary-progressive disease. It is a prodrug that converts to monomethyl fumarate (MMF), its active metabolite, which activates the Nrf2 pathway to provide neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory effects.
Diroximel fumarate is an oral MS medication that works through the Nrf2 pathway to reduce relapses and slow disease progression in relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis.

Diroximel fumarate is indicated for the treatment of relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis in adults, including clinically isolated syndrome, relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis, and active secondary-progressive multiple sclerosis.
Diroximel fumarate is a prodrug that is rapidly converted to monomethyl fumarate (MMF), its pharmacologically active metabolite. MMF activates the nuclear factor (erythroid-derived 2)-like 2 (Nrf2) pathway, which is involved in cellular defense against oxidative stress and inflammation.
Common side effects include flushing, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and nausea. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity and should be used with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Regular monitoring of liver function and blood counts is recommended during treatment.
