Durezol is used to treat inflammation and pain associated with ocular surgery, including postoperative inflammation following cataract extraction. It may also be prescribed for anterior uveitis (eye inflammation).

Difluprednate is a corticosteroid that works by inhibiting the inflammatory response in eye tissues. It suppresses the production of inflammatory mediators and reduces the migration of inflammatory cells, thereby decreasing swelling, redness, and discomfort in the eye.

Durezol is for ophthalmic use only and should not be injected into the eye. Patients should not wear contact lenses during treatment if they have ocular inflammation. Prolonged use may increase the risk of secondary eye infections, cataracts, or elevated intraocular pressure. Use with caution in patients with a history of herpes simplex keratitis.
