Elzonris is indicated for the treatment of blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm (BPDCN) in adults and pediatric patients 2 years and older. It is typically used in patients requiring systemic therapy.
Elzonris is a fusion protein that combines interleukin-3 (IL-3) with a truncated diphtheria toxin. The IL-3 portion binds to CD123 receptors highly expressed on BPDCN cells. Once bound, the toxin component enters the cell and inhibits protein synthesis, leading to cell death.
Elzonris carries a boxed warning for capillary leak syndrome, which can be life-threatening. Other common side effects include nausea, fatigue, and liver enzyme elevations. It is administered as a静脉注射 (IV infusion) typically for 5 consecutive days in 21-day cycles. Patients should be monitored closely during and after infusion.
