Emcin Clear is primarily used to treat acne vulgaris (common acne), including inflammatory acne with papules and pustules. It may also be prescribed for other bacterial skin infections as determined by a healthcare provider.
As a macrolide antibiotic, erythromycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit of susceptible bacteria. This bacteriostatic action reduces bacterial colonization on the skin, helping to decrease inflammation associated with acne lesions.
For external use only; avoid contact with eyes, nose, and mouth. Results typically appear within 4-6 weeks of consistent use. Effectiveness may decrease with prolonged use due to bacterial resistance. Inform your doctor if symptoms worsen or don't improve after 6-8 weeks. Common side effects may include skin dryness, redness, or mild irritation at the application site.
