Entadfi is FDA-approved for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate. It helps relieve lower urinary tract symptoms including difficulty starting urination, weak stream, frequent urination, and incomplete bladder emptying.
Finasteride blocks the enzyme that converts testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone that drives prostate growth, thereby reducing prostate size over time. Tadalafil is a PDE5 inhibitor that relaxes smooth muscle in the prostate and bladder neck, improving urine flow and reducing urinary symptoms more quickly.
Entadfi is for men only and should not be handled by pregnant women due to risk of birth defects. Common side effects may include erectile dysfunction, decreased libido, and ejaculation disorders. The finasteride component can lower PSA levels, which may affect prostate cancer screening. Do not use with nitrates or certain blood pressure medications. Full effects on urinary symptoms may take several weeks to months.
