Treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC), non-metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (nmCRPC), and metastatic castration-sensitive prostate cancer (mCSPC) in adult men.
Enzalutamide competitively inhibits androgen binding to androgen receptors, blocking androgen receptor activation and nuclear translocation, thereby disrupting the androgen receptor signaling pathway that drives prostate cancer progression.
Contraindicated in pregnancy due to potential fetal harm. May cause fatigue, hypertension, headache, and rarely seizures. Patients should use effective contraception during and after treatment. Often used in combination with GnRH agonists to suppress testosterone production.
