Treatment of complicated intra-abdominal infections (cIAI) in adult patients when other antibiotic options are not appropriate.

Eravacycline binds to the bacterial 30S ribosomal subunit, inhibiting protein synthesis and preventing bacterial growth. It is a synthetic tetracycline derivative with broad-spectrum activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to tetracyclines. Should not be used during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or in children under 8 years of age due to effects on bone and tooth development. Common adverse effects include gastrointestinal symptoms and infusion site reactions. Administered via intravenous infusion.
