Estrumate is indicated for estrus synchronization in cattle, treatment of cystic ovarian disease and pyometra, induction of parturition in late pregnancy, and termination of unwanted pregnancies in livestock.

As a prostaglandin F2α analogue, Estrumate induces luteolysis (breakdown of the corpus luteum) by causing regression of the yellow body on the ovary, which removes progesterone inhibition and allows estrus and ovulation to occur.

This medication is for veterinary use only and should be administered by or under the direction of a licensed veterinarian. It should not be used in pregnant animals unless termination is intended. Animals should be properly restrained during administration, and proper injection site protocols should be followed.
