Evrysdi is indicated for the treatment of spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) in adults and children 2 months of age and older. It is used for various types of SMA, including Types 1, 2, and 3.

Evrysdi is a survival motor neuron-2 (SMN2) splicing modifier. It works by modifying the way the SMN2 gene is processed, which increases the production of functional survival motor neuron (SMN) protein. This helps compensate for the deficient SMN protein that causes SMA.

Evrysdi is taken daily by mouth (or via feeding tube) with food. Common side effects may include fever, diarrhea, and rash. Patients should have regular monitoring during treatment and should avoid live attenuated vaccines during therapy. Patients and caregivers should read the Medication Guide provided with the prescription.
